Reverend Jevon Q. Catlett

Pastor Jevon Q. Catlett was born to William and Yvonne Catlett on July 21, 1989. Pastor Catlett is the youngest of five children and, accepted his call to preach at the tender age of 13 and joined the St. Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Roland Butler Jr. Pastor Catlett preached his initial first sermon on, September 28th, 2003.

Pastor Catlett is a graduate from Hopkinsville High School, and later furthered his education at Lane College in Jackson, TN where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Throughout his undergrad years Pastor Catlett was awarded several honors including Student chapel of the Year award and the distinguished student award. Pastor Catlett served as Vice-President of the ministerial alliance of Lane College until his departure. Furthering his education Pastor Catlett also received a Master of Arts degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH with a focus in Theological Studies. It was during this time where Pastor Catlett defended his thesis entitled “The Other Side of American Christianity” which is also scheduled to be published in 2025.

Pastor Catlett also has pursued studies at Beeson Divinity School, Birmingham, Alabama, as well as Campbellsville University. Pastor Catlett is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree from Missio Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA,, with graduation date set in May of 2025. Pastor Catlett continues his “student first” personality which helps and assist him with sound biblical preaching, which the church needs in times such as these.

In May, of 2012, while still in college, Pastor Catlett was introduced to his pastoral journey and called to lead the Greater Hope Baptist Church in Murray Kentucky as Senior Pastor, making him the youngest pastor in the state of Kentucky at that time.

Pastor Catlett served as Pastor in Alabama for 5 years and accepted the call of Senior pastor of the Mount Olive Baptist Church Flint, Michigan, where he currently serves, and has been for the last 5 years. Pastor Catlett has adopted the heartfelt slogan for Mt. Olive, deeming it, “The Place where GROWTH happens. Other than his academic accomplishments, and itinerate preaching schedule, Pastor Catlett is a family man, married to the former Ms. Symone Mays, and they have three children together Jayce, Jaelyn, and Jrue.
