Prayer Call: God...Do You See Me?
Good morning, BFB and BFB and Beyond.
This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. I am rejoicing this morning, and I hope you are too. This morning I shared on the prayer call another question God has placed in my heart. A question that, if we are honest, we have all asked: God...Do You See Me?
We all have moments in life when we can feel surrounded and still feel unseen. Moments when you’re doing everything you can, carrying what you have to carry, and showing up the way you’re supposed to, but deep down, there’s a question that rises in your heart:
“God… do You see me?”
In Luke 7:11–17 (I only focused on verses 11-13 this morning), we encounter a woman whose situation speaks louder than her words. The Bible tells us she is a widow, and now she is on her way to bury her only son. This isn’t just grief. It’s the loss of her future, her stability, and her support system all at once.
And yet, in the middle of all of that, Jesus shows up. This shows me two things this Monday morning:
1. God Sees You Even When You Don’t Say a Word
What’s powerful about this story is what the woman does not do. She doesn’t cry out to Jesus. She doesn’t ask for help. She doesn’t make a request. She is simply walking, carrying her grief.
But the Bible says, “When the Lord saw her…”
She didn’t call Him, but He still saw her.
That’s good news this Monday morning for anyone who has ever been so overwhelmed that you didn’t even have the words to pray. God sees what others miss. He sees the tears you didn’t show, the weight you’ve been carrying, and the silent struggles you’ve been holding inside. This let's you and I know: You don’t have to get God’s attention. He already sees you! Hallelujah!!!
2. God Moves with Compassion When You Feel Overwhelmed
The text doesn’t just say He saw her. It says, “His heart went out to her.” For me, that means God is not distant from our pain; He is moved by it. Jesus steps into her situation, stops the funeral procession, and speaks life into what looked like a final moment.
While every situation may not unfold the same way, the truth still remains: Our moments are not final. What we see as final, our God sees as an opportunity. God is not just aware of your pain. Our God is activated by it. He steps into what feels final. He interrupts what feels overwhelming. God brings hope into places that feel hopeless.
Before you close the page or close the app, I want you to take a deep breath and settle your heart in this: God sees you. Nothing about your life has escaped His attention. Even the things you haven’t said out loud, He already knows. So as you go into this day, walk with a quiet confidence that you are seen, you are held, and you are covered.”
Love ya with the love of Christ, and there ain't nothing you can do about that!

My prayer for you today: Father, thank You that You see us even when we don’t have the words to call on You. Thank You that You are not distant from our pain, but You are moved with compassion toward us. For every person carrying something heavy, remind them that they are not invisible to You. Strengthen them, comfort them, and step into their situation with Your peace and Your power. I pray this prayer with a desire that you get the glory and we take none of the credit. God, I truly just want to make you smile. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
