Prayer Call: Can you use me? - I Got Questions
Good morning,
There are times when we look at ourselves and we quietly wonder, “God… can You really use me?” We look at our limitations, our resources, our past, or our insecurities and convince ourselves that we don’t have enough to offer. In John 6, Jesus is surrounded by thousands of hungry people, and the disciples are overwhelmed by the size of the need. Yet in the middle of that crowd, Jesus takes notice of a little boy with five barley loaves and two fish. It wasn’t much, it wasn’t impressive, and it didn’t seem significant, but once it was placed in the hands of Jesus, it became more than enough. And that is good news for each and every one of us because it lets us know that Jesus can use us because
1. GOD DOESN’T START WITH WHAT’S IMPRESSIVE
The disciples focused on what they lacked, but Jesus focused on what was available. The little boy’s lunch did not look significant enough to feed thousands, yet Jesus chose to use it anyway. That’s encouraging because God has never been limited by small beginnings or ordinary people. Some of us have spent too much time disqualifying ourselves because we think our gifts are too small, our influence is too limited, or our past is too complicated. But the issue was never whether the lunch was enough by itself. The issue was whose hands it was placed in. God does not ask us to be impressive; He asks us to be available.
2. JESUS CAN MULTIPLY WHAT YOU SURRENDER
The boy surrendered what he had, and Jesus took it, blessed it, and multiplied it. What started small became a blessing for thousands. In the same way, your gift, your testimony, your kindness, and your obedience may seem small to you, but once God gets involved, everything changes. Never underestimate what God can do with a surrendered life. The miracle was not in the amount; it was in the surrender.
As you go into this day, please remember what seems small in your hands can become significant in God’s hands. So stop focusing on what you lack and trust God with what you already have. You are more than enough, and YES...... God can use you.
Love ya and there ain't nothing you can do about it.
