Prayer Call: A Kingdom's Perspective
Good Morning, BFB!
This is a day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Today's scripture: “Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.” -1 Chronicles 29:11 NIV
One we see that God owns it all. God owns everything in Heaven and in the earth. The Kingdom is His. It's important for us to realize that God owns it all because it changes our mindset from ownership to stewardship. David realizes that even the temple they are going to build belongs to God and they are giving it back to Him. The materials that are being collected already belong to God and it is their responsibility to give those items back to Him so that His purpose is done. So they use them in a way that pleases Him. When we learn that everything we have belongs to God it changes how we use the resources He provides us. It gives us the opportunity in everything we use to point others to Christ. Being good stewards of God's resources allows us to exhibit our faith and acknowledge that God will provide everything that we need.
Not only does God own it all but God reigns in power. God's strength is supreme. David reminds us that God is not just distant, but He is active and working in our lives each day. Too often we rely on our own strength instead of God's strength. When we recognize that all power belongs to God we can rest in God. We can trust that God's power is greater than any struggle or obstacle we can face. Ephesians 3:20 says "Now to Him who is able to do above all we as or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us". God's power is working in us and through us and His power is what allows to live out His purpose for our lives. God's power is our source.
Lastly, David reminds us that God deserves the glory. When David ends this prayer he exalts God's glory, victory, and majesty. No matter what happens we should recognize that God's glory will prevail. In Isaiah 42:8 God tell us that He is God and He will not share His glory with another. God's glory is His and His alone. Our lives, our work, our relationships, the gifts, the talents that we possess - should always point back to Him. When our mindset shifts that everything we do is for God's glory - it changes our approach. We operate that what we are doing is a reflection of God's glory and not ourselves. It places our hearts in a posture to strive to operate in God's image and in His likeness so that others see Him and not we ourselves. When we operate in God's purpose, His glory will shine in a dark well and draw others out of darkness and into the light.
As we go through this week, let us show others who God really is and walk in a Kingdom's Perspective. Let everything we do point back to God, let His glory shine, and let us offer Him our thanksgiving and our praise. Let us strive to live with a Kingdom's Perspective.
