Reflection: Surrendering to God means trusting Him with every part of our lives, knowing He has our best in mind.
Expanded Focus
True surrender requires trust—trust in God’s character, His plans, and His timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to lean not on our understanding but to acknowledge Him in all our ways, allowing Him to direct our paths. Surrendering is not about passivity but active faith, choosing to deny ourselves daily and take up our cross to follow Christ (Luke 9:23).
When we surrender, we release control of our worries, ambitions, and desires, allowing God to lead. This act of faith opens the door for God to work in ways beyond what we could ask or imagine. Surrender also brings peace, as we rest in the assurance of God’s sovereignty and goodness. It is a continual journey of laying down our will to embrace His higher purpose for our lives.
Centering on surrender not only strengthens our trust in God but also deepens our relationships with others as we inspire one another to fully rely on His guidance and grace.

It’s hard for me to surrender those areas where I feel like I don’t want to burden God with this. The things I think that are not significant enough to submit them to God, because I can take care of it and God will be so proud. Like saying, “Let me get it together first and then I’ll come to church.” When the truth is God wants me to surrender everything to Him…all of it. Not giving it all to Him, is what the enemy wants. It’s definitely hard. It takes practice. It takes effort. Being on this fast is definitely helping me to surrender everything to Him. Even the little things. He wants it all.
