Prayer Call: Faith That Endures
Good Morning, BFB!
This is a day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Today's scripture: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV
Faith is one of those things that endures through all. Along with faith, there is hope and love. These three things kept those before us going, they helped them trust in God. Moses and Daniel exhibited faith - not a faith that had everything figured out, but a faith that trusted in God's ability. Faith reminds us that we are never alone.
You have to have a hope that won't quit. Even when everything around us looks hopeless, God gives us hope. We are reassured that God is working even when we can't see it. Hope in God gives us the strength and courage to keep going. To keep being God's kingdom hear on earth. Hope in God gives us what we need to persevere - to keep our eyes focused on the goal, to spur us on to keep running this race.
With faith, there's hope, and there's a love that should bring us together. Jesus showed us what real loved look like. He exemplified what showing kindness looked like even when we think the other person doesn't deserve it. God calls us to love each other any way. Yes us - because He didn't sacrifice His life for just one of us, He sacrificed His life for all of us. When asked what was the greatest commandment, Jesus said to love the Lord our God with all of heart, mind, and soul and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Love conquers all. Love unites all.
