Scriptures: Romans 12:13, Hebrews 13:2

Reflection: Hospitality is a tangible way to reflect God’s love by welcoming and serving others.
Expanded Focus
Romans 12:13 encourages us to “share with the Lord’s people who are in need” and to “practice hospitality.” This command highlights that hospitality is an intentional expression of God’s love, not just an act of kindness. Hebrews 13:2 expands this by reminding us that practicing hospitality may lead to unexpected blessings, as some have unknowingly entertained angels. These scriptures show that hospitality is not about grand gestures but about creating spaces of welcome, care, and connection for others.
Hospitality begins within the church, where we strengthen relationships by ensuring that new members feel valued and embraced. Those who have recently united with Beulah are not just joining a congregation; they are becoming part of a family. It is vital to create an environment where they feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Hospitality also extends to those who may feel overlooked or disconnected, offering them an opportunity to re-engage and feel part of the community.
Outside the church, hospitality becomes a powerful witness to the world. Simple acts, such as inviting a neighbor to dinner, providing a meal to someone in need, or offering a kind word to a stranger, can break down barriers and open hearts. Hospitality reflects God’s care and demonstrates the grace we have received in Christ.
Like opening a door to a warm and inviting home, hospitality allows others to experience the love of God through our actions. It fosters belonging, promotes healing, and strengthens bonds within the church and the community.
Connecting through hospitality helps us grow with one another by fostering relationships, creating a culture of belonging, and reflecting the love of Christ both inside and outside the church.

Questions to Consider:
- How can you practice hospitality this week with new members or those who feel disconnected or unwelcomed at Beulah?
- Who in your community needs to experience God’s love through your welcome, and how can you offer it?
- What specific actions can you take to create an environment of belonging for others?

Our Father and Our God, I thank You for the gift of hospitality and the opportunity we have to reflect Your love through kindness and service. Help us to open our hearts and homes to others, sharing Your grace with those in need. May our actions be a testament to Your love, drawing others closer to You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
