Focus Area - CONNECT
Strengthening relationships within the church & community

Scriptures: Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:24-25
Reflection Fellowship strengthens our faith and reminds us that we are not alone in our walk with Christ.

Expanded Focus
Acts 2:42 provides a beautiful glimpse into the early church’s dedication to fellowship, prayer, teaching, and breaking bread together. This commitment went beyond structured gatherings, extending into daily life as believers shared meals, resources, and encouragement. Hebrews 10:24-25 reinforces this idea, urging believers to meet regularly and inspire one another toward love and good deeds. These scriptures remind us that fellowship is not confined to the walls of a church building but is a way of life that strengthens our connection to God and to one another.

Charles Spurgeon captures this truth well: “Some Christians try to go to heaven alone, in solitude. But believers are not compared to bears or lions or other animals that wander alone. Those who belong to Christ are sheep in this respect, that they love to get together. Sheep go in flocks, and so do God’s people.” Fellowship is about being part of the flock both within the church and in everyday life. Inside the church, it happens through worship, Bible study, and shared ministry. Outside the church, it occurs when believers gather in homes, workplaces, and communities, carrying the love of Christ into the world.

True fellowship bridges Sunday mornings and the rest of the week. It calls us to extend our relationships beyond pews and into lives, where we can encourage one another, share burdens, and celebrate God’s faithfulness. Just as sheep thrive in flocks, believers thrive when they intentionally connect both in formal worship and informal gatherings, living out the love of Christ in every area of life.

Connecting through fellowship helps us grow with one another by uniting us in love, strengthening our bonds, and demonstrating the presence of Christ both inside and outside the church.

Questions to Consider
  1. How can you extend fellowship beyond church services and into your daily life?
  2. In what ways can you contribute to a culture of fellowship in BFB?
  3. Who in your community could you invite into fellowship, both in and outside of church?
  4. Would you be interested in committing to a small group to strengthen your Connection as we do life with one another?
