Using our gifts, talents, & resources to glorify God & serve His kingdom.
Scriptures: Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, Luke 6:38
Reflection: Faithful stewardship is a response to God’s provision and a way to
participate in His work.
Expanded Focus
Stewardship is about managing what God has entrusted to us—our time, talents, and resources—for His glory. Malachi 3:10 calls us to bring the full tithe into God’s storehouse, promising that He will pour out blessings in abundance when we honor Him with our first fruits. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 teaches that God loves a cheerful giver and assures us that those who sow generously will reap generously. Luke 6:38 reinforces this by stating, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.”
Faithful stewardship starts with financial obedience. Tithing—the practice of giving the first 10% of our income to God—is a tangible way to demonstrate our trust in Him and our commitment to His kingdom. It is an act of worship that acknowledges God as our ultimate provider. However, stewardship goes beyond tithing. It includes how we manage the remaining 90% of our resources. Are we spending wisely? Saving diligently? Giving generously to those in need? These practices reflect our faith and ensure that our resources are aligned with God’s purpose.
Stewardship also involves the careful management of time and talents. When we prioritize serving others and using our gifts to glorify God, we contribute to the growth of His kingdom and foster unity within the church. Stewardship is not about obligation but about joyful participation in God’s work.
Contributing through stewardship helps us grow with one another by strengthening our trust in God, equipping the church for ministry, and fostering a spirit of generosity that impacts lives within and beyond our community.
