Keep Your Fire Burning
I can’t believe our fast is over. It feels like we just started, but here we are—on the other side of a season filled with prayer, sacrifice, and seeking God together. As I think back on these last few weeks, my heart is full. God has been moving in our church, in our homes, and in our hearts. But just because the fast has ended doesn’t mean the work is done. Now comes the challenge of keeping the fire burning.
Keep Going: Don’t Lose the Strength You’ve Gained
This fast brought us closer to God, but that connection doesn’t have to end. Like Elijah, who found strength for his next steps after fasting (1 Kings 19:8), we’ve been equipped for whatever lies ahead. Stay in the Word, keep praying, and keep pressing forward. The strength you feel isn’t because of the fast—it’s because of the God who showed up during the fast. Lean into Him every day.
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
Stay on Guard: The Enemy Isn’t Taking a Break
Remember, after Jesus fasted for 40 days, that’s when the enemy came knocking (Matthew 4:1-11). The end of a fast is often when the attacks ramp up. Be mindful. Old habits, distractions, or doubts might try to creep back in. Don’t let them. Stay connected to your church family, keep your mind focused on God, and know that victory is already yours. Put on your armor every day (Ephesians 6:10-18)—the enemy might come at you, but the Spirit in you is stronger.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith…” (1 Peter 5:8-9a)
A Word of Caution: Don’t Let the Fire Go Out
It’s easy to get comfortable after a spiritual high. But don’t let the fire fade. The enemy loves a lukewarm heart. Stay hungry for God. This fast wasn’t just a moment—it was meant to build momentum. Don’t slip back into “business as usual.” Keep pushing forward, stay disciplined, and keep growing. Our walk with God isn’t just for seasons like fasting—it’s for life.
“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” (1 Corinthians 10:12)
Let’s Keep Growing Together
As we move forward with one another, let’s hold each other up. Let’s pray for each other, encourage each other, and walk this road together. Stay centered on Christ, stay connected to those you built community with (and bring others in), and keep contributing your time, gifts, and prayers to the work God is doing here. The fast might be over, but God’s got more for us. BFB let’s keep showing up, serving, worshiping, and loving each other well. I believe God is going to do even greater things through us this year.
This isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning!
Stay encouraged. Stay ready. Stay all in.

P.S. I love you, and there ain’t nothing you can do about it!!!!
