Prayer Call: God...God...Who are you?- I Got Questions
Good morning.
There are moments in life when what we’re facing forces us to ask questions not just about our situations but about God Himself.
In Matthew 16, Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” Then He makes it personal: “But who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:13-17 NKJV)
Because how you answer that question will shape how you walk through everything you face. And the truth is, we don’t just answer that question with words; we answer it with how we trust Him in real life.
So this morning, let’s answer that question together:
God… who are You?
1. God Is Your Strength When You Feel Weak
Life has a way of exposing our limits. There are moments when you don’t feel strong enough, prepared enough, or capable enough to handle what’s in front of you. But Scripture reminds us in Psalm 73:26, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
That means when your strength runs out, God’s strength steps in. Think about David standing before Goliath, not because he was the strongest but because he trusted the One who was. Or Paul declaring that when he was weak, that’s when he was strong, because God’s power rested on him.
God doesn’t remove every weak moment, but He meets you in it with His strength.
2. He Is Your Peace When Life Is Uncertain
There are seasons where nothing feels settled. Decisions are unclear. Outcomes are uncertain. And our minds keep running, trying to figure everything out. But I am reminded of what the Holy writ says in John 14:27. Jesus says,
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.”
That means God’s peace is not based on your circumstances. Peace is rooted in God's presence. Think about Jesus in the boat during the storm. The winds were raging, the waves were crashing, and the disciples were panicking, but Jesus was at peace. And when He spoke, peace came to the situation.
God doesn’t always calm the storm immediately, but He will calm you in the middle of it.
3. He Is Your Provider When You Don't See A Way
There are moments when resources don’t line up, opportunities don’t appear, and you’re left wondering how things are going to come together. But I'm reminded of the narrative of Abraham in Genesis 22. Abraham called God Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Will Provide. Before Abraham saw the ram, God had already made provision.
And we see it again when Jesus feeds the five thousand. The disciples wondered how they were going to feed all of the people, but Jesus knew. He took a little boy's lunch, and what looked like not enough became more than enough when it was placed in His hands.
God’s provision is not limited by what you see. God works beyond it to provide more than enough.
So, when life asks the question, "Who is God?" don't answer with random things you have heard. Answer with your own testimony. He is My Strength. He is My Peace. He is My Provider. And He will be exactly what you need him to be today.
Love ya with the love of Christ and there ain't nothing you can do about that!
